I actually wrote a blog post on battles a little while ago: immersion-rpg.com/2015/03/12/running-epic-battles/That's how I tend to run them. It's loose and flexible as a method, but keeps that action immediate and what the pc's do can make an effect. You could have several key moments in the battle, which the pc's have to respond to - i.e. there's a point where the Red Hand are making an assault on the compound - do they repel it? How well? There's a second point where the settlement survivors are trying to take back a key position - do they do it? How bad are the casualties - on both sides? Finally, there could be a last-ditch assault by the survivors on their attackers' grounds (depending on the situation this may or may not make sense - you can always shift your plans according to what seems logical at the time) - do they succeed? Is it a pyrrhic victory? How does that sound mate?

Yeah good points guys! I'd love to get a bit more feedback from a few more backers before I made a definitive move on those. Can some more people post their answers here? Would you like minis as a future release? What do you prefer for future setting books in Infected? More content, charts, encounter tables and adventures, with not so expensive art (i.e b&w art)? Or is epic art and full colour your first priority? It's not to say there can't be both, but where I put the focus will be important. just throwing my 2 cents in: Hassle Free has some great zombie killing minis www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=modern-%26%0D%0Apost%252dapoc~modern-adventurersAlthough most are looking like they are days or weeks into the apocalypse not years Miniature Mojo is a very small company and did a line of survivors for it's skirmish survivor game, but it is set in a 'nuclear winter' type world so everyone is bundled up. Still, this would be a good person to turn to for getting survivor type minis I think www.miniaturemojo.co.uk/docs/18/gallery/another great resource is www.lead-adventure.de/index.php (this is where I bumped into the Minitature Mojo guy) I'd encourage you to make contact with a company already doing survivor type stuff vs being another drop in the ocean

disclaimer: Now I don't need to know the breakdown on the kickstarter budget, however all I will say is 3D printers are relatively cheap.
May be a small extension of Immersion Games.....

Or you could use Heroforge.com to create your own. Slightly expensive but fun to have a play with.

Trust me Oliver, Mini's, while expensive are a BIG deal to many gamers. Sadly, it's due to games like Dnd 4.0 and 5.0, but it's what a lot of younger gamers want to help them visualize. I'd suggest a company like Prodos Games. I second a mini series if you ever consider it. It would be nice to see maybe 2 series of a dozen different Infected sculpts. This way a good variety is shown to help with the story telling vs using the same sculpts over and over.
