Hi everyone!
So, for those of you who backed at Creative Backer levels that enable you to create NPCs in the game, or NPC groups, or even a whole section in the book (in the case of the Legend Backer), then this thread can be a handy way for you to post up some of your ideas to bounce off other backers. This is not mandatory! Rather, it's just a way that a lot of creative backers can get together and talk about some cool ideas. Take what you like, discard what you like - it's totally up to you!
Some ways that this could work is like this:
Say, Pappa Doc has created his railroad NPC Group. They're a busy town/settlement of sorts that uses railways and controls their region with an iron fist, politics, persuasion and sheer intimidation and power.
Joe, another backer, has also taken the pledge level that allows him to create an NPC group! Cool. He likes the idea of Pappa Doc's railway, and think that this could tie into his own idea of a group of mercenaries guarding highly-valuable oil refineries. Mayhap he originally thought of them being in Texas, then decides to shift them northwards to fit with Pappa's railroad in Virginia. Or he might decide that even with them being in Texas, they have dealings with Pappa's railroad, and have a mutual understanding between them.
Then a third backer, Bill, comes along and says, wow! I've got a Saviour pledge that lets me put a character in the book, with a portrait. Could he be the broker who makes the deals between the two groups, and makes a tidy sum in the process? Cool!
Then a fourth backer, Margaret, decides that's cool, but with her Saviour pledge, she's in fact a dissident from both the mercs and from Pappa Doc's group, and has been travelling around the countryside spreading dissension, unrest and hatred against them - and turning them against each other. Awesome idea.
Now a fifth backer goes, you know what? I'm not a creative level backer, but I could chime in that it could be cool to have a military group that controls a shipyard beside the Texan oil refineries, and extorts them for oil - and hates Pappa Doc for sinking one of their ships. And they want Margaret to try to weaken the Doc's railway by setting them against the oil refinery, with the help of Bill's saviour character (who makes a lot more money from them!).
And so it goes!
