Here's the place where you can post up your games that you've played, how they went, the storylines, and so on. Also, here you can plot with others the demise of your players...I mean...no, you can work on creating scenarios - and settings, NPCs, charts even... gee just let your creativity go wild!

I've done a fair bit of work on some Great Lakes stuff, but I'd love to get your take on it - there's a lot that can be done there! And WELCOME TO THE FORUM ralph! Great to see you here

Working all weekend, but I will put a couple of ideas out:
1. The Great Lakes are the largest bodies of fresh water in the entire world. 2. You can find areas of large population density (Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland,Toronto..etc) 3. The US Naval Academy is located near Chicago. 4. There are numerous island scattered through the region - possible refuge or bases to be attacked. 5. There are areas of great wilderness along the lakes which could be settled far away from civilization and ghoulish hordes. I've got more ideas, but these are just the ones off the top of my head. I will be able to write more next week...

Not to be rude but I beleive that USNA (US Naval Academy) is in Annapolis, Md still and the USMMA ( United States Merchant Marine Academy ) is in Great Neck, NY. Is there another or different academy in the chicago area perhaps?.

The Navy's only boot camp is just outside North Chicago: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naval_Station_Great_Lakes And here's some info about the Great Lakes: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Lakes

So, should we start with the big picture and then work our way down to the fiddly bits? Some questions: What's the percentage of people left in this area? What the percentage of ghouls in this area? Which cities are still basically intact? For the above question, I'm curious about:governmental presence, basic population numbers, infrastructure, transit systems, modes of travel, etc. Plus, there's the question of nuclear sterilization...where any cities vaporized?
Who do you see or want to see as the movers and shakers in this area? What is/are the reasons that people would be willing to stay in this area?
These are some basic questions we need to answer and I have my ideas for them, but I don't want to be rude...so, ideas?

I favor starting with the Big Picture before working out the details.

Mackinac Island is a great find!. Are you thinking about starting a island campaign perhaps?. Becuase that would be a great start for any group. Do you know if the island is self sustained?

I think you are on to something with Mackinac Island. Survivors will have had to push away from urban areas. The island could make for a very interesting setting or safe haven.
Tourism drives the island today. Rich history. Fishing sustained its pre-modern inhabitants.
It's described as the "central point for all travel on the upper Great Lakes.
